Summer Running Details

Summer training can be the biggest factor for success in Cross Country. Runners can turn a 13-week high school CC season into a 26-week season to more fully develop their cardiovascular fitness and to make better use of the in-season training.

I plan to reward runners that are willing to put in the necessary time in the summer to make the most of their Cross Country season in the fall.

Here the rules and rewards for summer training:

- June, July and August months will be counted for summer mileage.

- August mileage totals include running mileage accrued once official practice starts.

- Runners need to document a monthly total of their mileage at a minimum (...a running log showing daily/weekly mileage is preferred).

- Be sure to count your cross training mileage (...see the conversions listed below).

- Any runner that logs 200+ miles will get a Trinity Cross Country t-shirt.

- Runners that achieve 250+ miles will be listed in the Trinity CC records from year to year at 50-mile increments (example: 250-mile club, 300-mile club, 350-mile club, etc.).

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope to see everyone ready to go on Monday, August 11th.

Thanks,
Jesse
