Trinity CC - Week Twelve Schedule

Hello,

We have entered the final week of the cross country season, with our Boys and Girls teams preparing for the State Meet.

For many runners the official cross country season has ended. Practices are optional for any runners that are not running at the State Meet, but practice is no longer a required commitment...and those continuing to train for the Nike Regional meet will join us most days. It is a great way to extend your training with teammates while we still have great weather!

Here's the schedule for the upcoming week...please note the shorter practice times:

Week Twelve Schedule:
Monday, October 31st - 3:30-5:00pm at Trinity School
Tuesday, November 1st - 3:00-7:30pm - going to St. Olaf College - We will leave immediately following the school day and run the course for Saturday. If any CC runners would like to make the trip, we have a limited number of seats - please let me know as soon as possible. We also plan to eat supper in Northfield before returning to Trinity around 7:30pm.
Wednesday, November 2nd - Run On Your Own - option to run at 6:45am at Trinity School
Thursday, November 3rd - 3:30-5:00pm at Trinity School
Friday, November 4th - 1:00-5:00pm - Pre-Meet Social at St. Olaf College - We will leave Trinity at 1:00pm and go to Northfield to pickup our registration packet, participate in the pre-meet practice time and event program, and come back to Trinity by 5:00pm.  Because we will be getting out of school...only those running will plan to make the trip with the coaches.  For everyone else, this is a Run On Your Own day.
Saturday, November 5th - State Meet at St. Olaf College - Class A Boys Race at 10:00am, Class A Girls Race at 11:00am. We plan to take a caravan from Trinity at 7:30am to be at the race site by 8:30am.  We will stay through the Class A awards ceremony that will start around 12:00pm and finish around 12:45pm.  We do plan to stop somewhere to eat on the way back from the meet on the edge of the Metro Area and bring kids from the caravan back to Trinity around 3:30pm.

We are hoping that many teammates and fans can make the trip to Northfield to cheer on the Trinity cross country teams at State!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Jesse

MCAA Conference Meet Results

Hello,

We had excellent weather again on Tuesday for the conference meet to help provide some outstanding efforts and performances.  Thanks to parents, families, and friends for coming out to cheer on your Tri-Hawk runners to help make it a special event.

The normal conference meet course at Bassett Creek Park was altered due to some construction around the park.  The mile splits seemed strange and the final stretch of the race seemed long, so I measured the course after the meet and it appears to be about 170 meters long.  That would explain some great efforts on the part of our runners that didn't have the fast times to match.  I have included 5000 meter equivalents for our runners below.

Here are the Trinity results:

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT PARKING
A large construction project will be starting the day after the conference cross country meet. There will be heavy equipment on and near Bassett Creek Park. This will limit some of the street parking that is available. It is very important that vehicles do not block any driveways and do not park in the cul-de-sacs (including Welcome cul-de-sac). We have been warned that vehicles improperly parked will be ticketed and/or towed. Buses should drop off at Bassett Creek and park five blocks west at Lions Valley Place Park (6822 32nd Ave N). This is also a good parking location for spectators who are unable to find legal street parking. Our Spectrum team bus will serve as a shuttle between the Lions Valley Place Park parking lot and Bassett Creek Park.

Trinity CC - Week Seven Schedule

Hello,

As we enter Week 7 we are at the halfway point of the season already.  Let's keep our momentum in training going strong and enter October in good position for our championship season schedule.

Here's the schedule for the upcoming week:

Week Seven Schedule-
Monday, September 26th - 3:30-5:30pm at Trinity School
Tuesday, September 27th - 3:30-5:30pm at Trinity School
Wednesday, September 28th - Run On Your Own - option to run at 6:45am at Trinity School, the weight room will be open
Thursday, September 29th - 3:30-5:30pm at Trinity School
Friday, September 30th - 3:30-5:00pm at Trinity School
Saturday, October 1st - Varsity Runners (18 boys, 12 girls) - Swain Invitational at Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth - we leave Trinity at 6:30am and will return to Trinity by 9:30pm.

We plan to take 18 boys and 12 girls to the Swain Invitational in Duluth on Saturday, this is based on the size and experience of each team.

Seniors, varsity runners, and runners close to the varsity lineup have priority to go to Duluth.  It is rare for us to take any junior high athletes because the Swain course is very hilly and our junior high runners will have another 3 races coming up in the next 10 days after the Swain meet.

Monday we will finalize which runners will be making the trip to compete and communicate that out to everyone.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Jesse

Hello,

The Trinity CC Spaghetti Supper at the Leighton's house following practice on Friday has become a pre-Milaca Mega Meet tradition.  It is another great way for the team to spend time together.  Thanks to the Leightons for agreeing to host again this season!

We will have a short practice (2:30-3:50pm) on Friday following school.  We will then transport students to the Leighton house just a few miles away for supper.

Parents just need to be available to pickup students from the Leighton house (...directions listed below) at 5:30pm...we will coordinate rides to the Leighton house following practice.

Event: Spaghetti Supper at Leighton's house
Date: Friday, September 23rd, 2016
Time: 4:00ish-5:30pm
What to Bring: Any game that you want to play with teammates

The spaghetti supper is an optional team event, please have students let me know if they do not plan to attend.

Thanks,
Jesse
