Food For Meets

Hello,
Here's information from assistant coach Kim Kelly-Sommer about food assignments for meets:
--
Trinity Cross Country 2016 Food For Meets-

There are 33 Boys and 19 Girls for a total of 52 athletes. 6 coaches = 58 people.

I have assigned 5-6 people to each meet to bring food. I have only listed the last name either Mom or Dad is welcome to do the job.  If you have a conflict with your meet date, you can either ask someone to bring your item to the meet from your assigned group, or switch groups. Just make sure the leads know.

The person whose name is bolded I would like to be the point person for that meet. Please call them if you have a particular item you would like to bring, otherwise they will assign you an item so that all items are covered.

I (Kim) will bring a table, cold pack with mustard, and mayo, brownies and pumpkin bars to each meet.

Bread or buns- 58 can be white and or wheat on the smaller size. Not large hamburger buns. Or bread for 58 sandwiches. Bagels will also work. I will bring gluten free bread for the couple of gluten free kids we have.

Meat- for 58 can be ham, turkey, salami, what ever. If the slices are large please feel free to cut them in half.

Cheese- Probably do not need 58 slices as not all will take cheese.

Vegetables- Lettuce and tomato, not everyone eats these so enough for around 20-30 should be good.

Fruit- One or a combo of the following,  Do not bring everything  on the list for one meet. This is a very perishable item so please do not over buy.
Grapes washed and snipped or apples sliced or oranges quarted.

1% Chocolate Milk is always appreciated it would need to come on ice with cups. 4 gallons should be good. Chocolate milk when consumed directly after a meet has the right balance of sugar and protein for building muscle.

I will try to have a cutting board and knife at all meets.

I will bring a table to set food out on at the end of the meet. The coaches including myself are usually out on the course. Please feel free to set food out as kids are finishing running. We will remind kids to leave some food for runners who are finishing later in the day. I would like to ask that as parents we bring a snack for siblings, or ask that at the very least they wait until all athletes who are running that meet have finished and had a chance to eat. Then all are welcome to eat anything that is left over.

Thanks for all your help in making Trinity CC a successful program!
