Willmar Optimist Invitational

Here are the details for the Willmar Optimist Invitational:

Race: Willmar Optimist Invitational
Date: Saturday, October 3rd
Place: Eagle Creek Golf Course (1000 26th Avenue NE Willmar, MN)
Time: Trinity runners should be at the Willmar race site by noon. Our first race is at 1:00pm.
Drivers: Ed Gross (from St. Paul), Andrew Kloster, Kim Kelly-Sommer and Jesse Schoen (all from Trinity School) - departure time is 9:30am.
Directions: take 394 West or 494 West to US Hwy 12 West...take US Hwy 12 West all the way to Willmar, turn right on US Hwy 71 North/MN 23 East, take the Civic Center Drive exit and turn right on Civic Center Drive, turn right on 23rd Street NE, take a slight right on MN 294, which turns into 26th Avenue NE...turn right on Willmar Golf Course Drive.
Lunch: We are meeting at the gas station (it's a BP or Amoco) at the intersection of Hwy 12 and Lake Street in Long Lake at 10:15am. Kim will have a sandwich bar for runners to make themselves lunch to eat on the drive out to Willmar.

Race Distances:
Boys Varsity and JV races: 5000m
Girls Varsity and JV races: 4000m
Boys and Girls Junior High races: 3000m
Mighty Mites race (open to any elementary age students at no cost): 800m

Schedule of Events:
This is loosely formed, as only the first race (Girls Varsity) has a start time...other races will start immediately following the previous race. Be prepared as the schedule may run ahead of projected times.

approximately 2:15pm - Boys JV (Karl Brummer)
approximately 2:45pm - Girls Junior High (Sydney Kloster, Lotus Schifsky)
approximately 3:10pm - Boys Junior High (John Michael Berns, Rob Kranz, Jacob Bellomo)

Awards:
Varsity, JV and Junior High Races: Medals for top 20 individual finishers in each race, ribbons for all finishers.
Varsity Boys and Girls Races: Trophy for 1st place team.

Bismarck Century, Buffalo, Delano, Fargo North, Hopkins, Hutchinson, Mankato East, Moorhead, New Prague, Orono, Trinity School at River Ridge and Willmar.
